Friday, 7th June 2013 at 17:00PM Norton University New Campus Room G111. Dame Silvia is a graduate of the University of Otago. She became the first female Chief District Judge in New Zealand and in 1993 was the first woman to be appointed to the High Court. In 2001 she was appointed by Queen Elizabeth II​ as Governor-General of New Zealand. Dame Silvia is only the second female to be given this high office. Dame Silvia currently a Judge at the ECCC in Cambodia will be speaking about her work and career prior to her appointment.
